Endoscopic electrosurgical pencils and dissectors usually supplied in disposable models and are used for precision tissue cutting over a small area. Reusable devices are also available, but not widely used today. These electrosurgical cutting and separating components have stainless steel blades or needle electrodes at the tip. Electrosurgical dissectors are the blunt instruments used to separate tissue without cutting. Many improved outcomes have been made available to the patient through clever electro-surgical component design in new MIS devices.
