Endoscopic Scissors

Endoscopic scissors are a type of surgical scissor used in many laparoscopic medical procedures for tissue dissection and transaction. Endoscopic scissors are available in many configurations , including bent, curved, hooked, large, small, and straight to give the surgeon a wide range of options to choose from when planning a surgical cutting strategy. The traditional “Mayo” scissors are heavy-duty scissors and the “Metzenbaum” scissors are smaller, finer-edged scissors, designed for open procedures. A hooked scissor is used for dissecting and transecting and many other custom shapes are available. Another advancement in the use of scissors in endoscopic surgeries has been the introduction of monopolar and bipolar scissor technology. Many improved outcomes have been made available to the patient through clever micro-scissor design in new MIS devices.
